Packaging
Designing product packaging is something I’ve done a lot of in the past, mainly for the Scottish Food & Drink sector.
Whisky & Beer Packaging
For example, I’ve designed Whyte & Mackay whisky labels and boxes for their 30 Year Old Very Rare Blend and for The Dalmore 21 Year Old Highland Malt, Old Fettercairn and other brands; whisky labels for Crawford’s Three Star and Five Star; also I was one of the design team on the classic Younger’s Tartan Special black can for Scottish & Newcastle, and I have designed many on-can promotions for S&N.
Food Packaging
My most recent packaging design has been these transparent packs for Le Français brioche rolls, one for Butter Brioche and one for Choc-Chip Brioche. I designed these packs in 2018 and supplied 7-colour artwork to the printer, who was based in France, local to the brioche bakery.
On the Food side, one area of expertise has been Seafood packaging: tray wrappers and cartons for Scottish Mussels, Cockles and Scallops, cartons of Scottish Salmon and Salmon Kebabs for Scottish Chieftain, and polypacks of Haddock Portions for Jack McPhee’s.
Hair & Beauty Product Packaging
My first packaging design for this sector has been a range of tins of men’s hair wax for Glasgow hairdressers Sculpture Hair Design, individually titled Crazy Clay, Mud Madness and Totally Pasted.
